Lab Technician About the Role Our Client is one of the world's leading materials science companies, serving customers in high-growth markets such as packaging, infrastructure, mobility and consumer applications. Our Client is looking for a casual Lab Technician on a 1 day per fortnight basis with leave cover as required. The main duties of the Lab Technician are to complete quality control testing on water-based emulsions according to test methods, calibrate instrumentation, make simple solutions, ensure lab supplies are well stocked, general lab and sample management duties, and escalate any issues in a timely manner. Some flexibility regarding the finish time is required at times due to the nature of a production environment. What's in it for you? Opportunity to work in production One day per fortnight 7am-2pm with opportunity for overtime Attractive hourly rate Duties and Responsibilities Maintain calibration of quality control equipment Complete housekeeping and restocking of consumables as required Complete checklists and sample management as required Collaborate with logistics, operations, and quality roles to ensure priorities are met Perform inspections across all stages of production and dispatch Prepare and maintain test data for review Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards Identify areas for quality control improvement Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency Data entry into SAP and Excel Skills and Experience Solid understanding of test equipment preferred inspection and/or production experience welcomed Some working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions Ability to complete light duty repetitive tasks as required Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent organizational skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information Essential Bachelor of Science If you would like more information please email or call for a confidential chat.
