Laboratory Technician

Division: BORAL RESOURCES (COUNTRY) Department: COUNTRY CONCRETE NSW Work type: Permanent - full time Location: Canberra & ACT


Based in Mugga, we are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Technical Services Team. Working as part of a team, this role reports directly to the Laboratory Section Head. Duties involve undertaking sampling of construction materials, preparation of test samples, testing and physical analysis of these samples, reporting of test results and maintenance of records.
The main responsibilities include:

Conduct testing in accordance with laboratory work instructions, test methods, preparation instructions and manuals.
Prescribed calibrations and checks of laboratory test equipment.
Maintain, observe, and participate in the statutory Safety requirements of the Laboratory.
Maintenance of the Laboratory NATA accreditation requirements.
Other duties as directed by the Section Head.

Skills and experience:

A commitment to Safety and Quality.
Well-developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data.
Good time management and organisational skills.
An ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Strong analytical skills and a customer focus.
