About the Opportunity Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time Laboratory Technician (Haematology) to join their team in Bowen Hills, Brisbane.

Responsibilities of the role will include: Preparing and processing clinical specimens; Management (including maintenance and troubleshooting) of laboratory automation; Work closely with the scientific team to ensure positive outcomes for our patients; Assist pathologists in the collection and processing of bone marrow specimens; Performing all tasks relevant to a particular laboratory technician shift or a particular section of the laboratory as specified in department manuals; Upholding quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to departmental quality system procedures; Complying with the occupational health and safety policy and programs to ensure personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others in the workplace; Cooperating with work colleagues, referrers and their patients to assist with the provision of reliable and efficient service levels; Participating in in-service training as appropriate and training other staff as required; Performing special duties as required to contribute to the implementation of the strategic plan and to the effective functioning of a specific station, laboratory or organisation as a whole. About You The ideal candidate must have the following: An associate degree, advanced diploma or diploma in medical laboratory science; A passion to pursue a career in the Pathology industry; Flexibility to work across the day and evening shifts on both a weekday and weekend roster; Ability to be trained in specimen reception and some basic testing procedures; Ability to learn instrument maintenance and troubleshooting; Ability to prioritise work and work efficiently in a team environment; Strong attention to detail; Ability to assist pathologists in the collection and processing of bone marrow specimens.
