About Your Next Opportunity We now have an opportunity for a full-time Laboratory Supervisor to join our team in Mackay, QLD.
The purpose of the role is to lead, coach and manage the human, financial and physical resources of the laboratory in consultation with the regional manager, pathologist in charge and executive managers so that excellence in service delivery is achieved for all users of the service.
About You Applicants will possess an AIMS accredited degree in Medical Laboratory Science along with a minimum of three years experience in multi-disciplinary science. Competency in SmartLab, QAP and Auditing will be highly regarded, however, training will be provided if required.
The successful applicant will possess:
Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of a Scientific Supervisor. Responsible for maintaining laboratory operations and accreditation in line with NATA Regulations, defining the Scope of Accreditation and ISO:15189. Demonstrated extensive experience in a multidisciplinary laboratory setting with knowledge in but not limited to haematology, immunohematology, biochemistry, molecular pathology, microbiology and coagulation. Demonstrated ability to report and discuss complex results. Demonstrated high level of communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Demonstrated self-motivation and commitment to organisational excellence. Ability to control, supervise and evaluate all scientific and technical work performed by the laboratory. Demonstrated understanding of ethical considerations relating to pathology. Demonstrated exceptional leadership and support to staff to operate as a motivated and committed team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with good interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service. The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge of pathology laboratory operation, good organisational skills and dedication to planning and problem solving. An enthusiastic and flexible approach to the work environment is essential.
