Laboratory & Technical Services (Science & Technology) Full time Australian Clinical Labs (Clinical Labs) is committed to being the pathology provider of choice.
Our business is growing rapidly and now has over 5000 employees and a truly national reach.
We have approximately 100 NATA accredited laboratories that perform close to 6 million episodes each year for doctors, specialists, patients, hospitals, and corporate clients.
Clinical Labs services almost 100 private and public hospitals and is the largest provider of pathology services to public hospitals in Australia.
Within SA/NT, Clinical Labs has 5 NATA accredited laboratories serving an extensive GP and community network as well as a number of local hospitals.

About the role This exciting and pivotal role will have a significant impact on the overall performance of one of Australia's largest and most successful pathology groups.
This role reports to the General Manager and will lead performance of the laboratories in South Australia.
The primary objective of the position of Laboratory Operations Manager is supporting the laboratory and department managers in optimising best practices across the group, including revenue maximization, cost minimization, quality, human resources, and safety performance.
The role is focused on continuously reviewing and improving the operations, systems, logistics, medical relationships, and processes to ensure effective and efficient service, and to sustain their long-term financial viability.
The role will also work with State and national teams, Marketing, IT, HR/Safety/Quality, Operations, and Finance – to achieve agreed outcomes.
Essential personal attributes required to be successful in this role: You will have excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with medical professionals, scientists, and other staff.
You will need to lead a team for enhanced performance locally as well as influence nationally.
We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of process operations in all disciplines and you will have an aptitude for revenue enhancement, efficiency, and cost management within the central and regional laboratories.
In addition, strong project management skills and experience of change management and leadership within a scientific environment will be highly attractive.
As a leader, you will have the ability to undertake multiple projects at a time, be able to effectively delegate, and have strong coaching and mentoring skills.
Qualifications and experience required: Relevant university degree, preferably in science or engineering.
An advanced degree would also be attractive.
Project Management or Change Management leadership.
Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in high volume laboratory operations and a minimum of 5 years' experience working with and reporting to senior management.
5+ years of direct experience leading teams with demonstrated success and financial results.
Demonstrated effective interactions with medical professionals, particularly in a change environment.
Process improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) training would be highly regarded.
