Laboratory ManagerDivision: Boral Resources NSW P/LDepartment: METRO CONCRETE NSWWork type: Permanent - full timeLocation: Sydney Based in Baulkham Hills, we are looking for a responsible and experienced individual to join our team as a Laboratory Manager. Working independently, this role reports to the Laboratory Services Manager and involves undertaking tasks in relation to leading a diverse and experienced team of employees to deliver in an industry-leading laboratory.
Your day will involve: Actively promote and lead safe work practices and the adherence to relevant OH&S management.Develop and enhance the laboratory's capabilities, efficiency, and explore opportunities for new services to boost revenue and profitability.Manage and mentor a dedicated team of laboratory staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.Ensure all laboratory activities comply with NATA accreditation requirements.P&L responsibility for revenue, profitability, and cost control for the laboratory.What are we looking for? A strong set of leadership skills.A commitment to safety and quality.Good financial acumen and experience in running a P&L.NATA signatory for a range of construction material tests.Relevant tertiary qualifications in science or another relevant discipline e.g. Civil, Chemical or Materials - (desirable but not essential).Well-developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data (especially Qest, Word, Excel, etc.).Good time management and organizational skills.An ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines.Process improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) training.Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards.Good communication and organizational skills.About Boral We are Australia's leading vertically-integrated construction materials solution provider and have been helping to build and enable a strong, modern Australia for more than 75 years.
