Laboratory Manager - Chemistry

About the company/role:
Our client, a leading contract laboratory specialising in food, water, environmental, and agricultural testing globally, based in the Southern suburbs of Brisbane, is seeking a Chemistry Laboratory Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

As a Laboratory Manager, you will manage the laboratory to achieve a high level of competence in the analytical market whilst maintaining the quality systems. You will report to the National Chemistry Manager and have key interactions with all senior managers.

Duties:Provide leadership and direction for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory.Monitor department staff, operating to company standards and a high level of professional service.Contribute to innovation and improvement of the department.Provide support to sales and customer service teams.Provide reporting and documentation. Skills/experience:Tertiary qualification in science, chemistry or equivalent.Significant experience within a fast-paced chemistry laboratory environment.Experience in leading, managing, and mentoring a team and tracking performance of staff.Prior LIMS experience.Excellent organisational and delegation skills are essential along with an ability to prioritise.
