Laboratory Coordinator - Proserpine Mill

An opportunity has arisen for someone who loves analysis, dealing with people in a busy processing environment. If this sounds like you and you enjoy a challenge, then why not join our regional Production team as a Laboratory Work Coordinator based at Proserpine Mill in the Whitsundays QLD.The role is mill based and will suit someone who is motivated and doesn't require close supervision. Previous laboratory related experience is desirable, but not essential as we provide training for a person who displays the right aptitude and team fit.Responsibilities:The Laboratory Coordinator's primary responsibility during the crushing season is supervising the efficient operation of all aspects of both the juice and control laboratories.The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Managing resources and operations, including aspects of the cane payment processes and analysis.Working closely with the Operations Superintendent and shift production teams to provide support for efficient crushing operations.Managing laboratory/analysis issues, training & development, recruitment, coaching/mentoring, succession planning, and performance management.Ensuring accurate analytical results of cane, juice, molasses, raw sugar, and water chemistry are provided within the agreed timelines.Specific Requirements:It would be ideal if we could find someone with exactly the level of previous experience or qualifications to make a success of this role; however, the following qualities are important to us:Relevant laboratory qualifications (Certificate IV in Laboratory Analyses, Bachelor or Diploma of Science).A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a whole range of people.Excellent attention to detail - this is critical to the laboratory computer systems.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Someone who takes personal responsibility and accountability seriously.A willingness and ability to acquire new skills and/or qualifications.How To Apply:If this sounds like you, then why not apply online at Wilmar Careers (our-people/careers) by 29 September 2024, by hitting the "Apply" button.
