About the role We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Chemist to join our newly created team in Rockingham, Western Australia.
Responsible for blending and manufacturing crop chemicals, this is an exciting opportunity to assist with the commissioning of a newly built facility and the implementation of quality control practices and procedures.
Once operational, this role will see you conduct laboratory testing of agrochemical products according to their specification as well as monitoring of production activities and supports to Quality, Heath Safety & Environment policies and initiatives.
Responsibilities As a Laboratory Chemist you will enjoy a day including: Develop formulations, create test samples, and scale up product candidates for production.
Produce accurate and high-quality written reports documenting research and findings.
Conduct quality control testing of finished products, raw materials, in-process materials, and environmental samples to support manufacturing operations.
Assist in creating procedures to facilitate the manufacture of new products.
Effectively communicate project progress, as well as any issues or risks, to the laboratory manager.
Maintain laboratory facilities, equipment, and consumables to ensure optimal functionality.
About you To excel at Elders, you: Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant science discipline, such as chemistry, pharmaceutical science, or formulation science Demonstrable experience in HPLC & GC analytical techniques High attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills Possess a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow Previous experience in manufacturing batch blending operations and familiarity with agricultural or veterinary chemicals (advantageous) Experience developing and validating analytical methodology (advantageous) Experience maintaining & troubleshooting Agilent HPLC/GC Systems (advantageous) About Elders Elders is proud to be the last Australian-listed major agribusiness.
