The RoleALS is seeking Laboratory Assistants for our metallurgical services business in Burnie, TASMANIA.
Successful applicants will become part of its busy mineral testing laboratories that strive to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time, and by maintaining strong relationships with its clients.
We are seeking to recruit a casual Laboratory Assistant however working equivalent to full-time day shift hours with the aim that this position will become permanent with tenure.
The laboratory is based in Burnie, Tasmania.
This is not a FIFO mine site position.
The day to dayTypical duties include:
Perform sample handling & inventoriesPerform sample preparation, including crushing, blending and batch grinding procedures according to ALS Standard Operating ProceduresHandling and operation of various laboratory equipmentGeneral labouring and housekeeping dutiesConduct various bench scale and pilot plant testwork under the direction of supervisory staffAssisting in other duties as requiredThese are physically demanding positions that require applicants to be physically fit, have access to reliable transportation and be able to work day or afternoon shift as required.
Applicants with previous experience in similar laboratory or mine site roles will be highly regarded, however, training will be provided for successful applicants with no experience.
