Laboratory Assistant

Lubetech is an independent oil analysis and condition monitoring laboratory operating in Coopers Plains, QLD. We test oils, diesel fuels and coolants in service to the mining, fleet, manufacturing, power generation, aviation, hydraulic and compressed air sectors across Australia and the Pacific. 
Lubetech is looking for a permanent, full time Laboratory Assistant to join the team in Coopers Plains from 8am -4.30pm Monday to Friday. This is an entry level position where all training will be provided, we are looking for an assistant with a science degree, preferably in chemistry however any tertiary qualification in the sciences will be considered. 
At Lubetech, an assistant will: Receive, sort, allocate and register samples efficiently and accuratelyUndertake sample analysis in line with relevant standards, methods and policiesWrite reports and analysis on the samples processed through the laboratoryFollow all health and safety guidelinesCalibrate and utilise appropriate standards on instrumentation and tools within the laboratoryUndertake routine equipment maintenance, data entry, cleaning and general housekeepingDemonstrate a strong commitment to accuracy with a strong work ethic and an enthusiasm for ongoing professional developmentWorking at Lubetech: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4.30pm Flexible pay rate depending on level/experienceTraining and career development opportunitiesIndependent locally owned laboratoryThe role requires: Tertiary Qualification (AQF Level 7 and above) in any of the sciences, preferably chemistryFull working rights in AustraliaBasic exposure and understanding of laboratory-based testing methods and procedures.Strong literacy and numeracy skillsA good understanding of relevant programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook etc and some experience with laboratory information systemsProviding light administrative support and inventory management where requiredUnfortunately, no recruitment agency applications will be considered.
