We are looking for a Laboratory Analyst to work in the Analytical Laboratory team at our Bell Bay Aluminum smelter. Reporting to the Superintendent Environment & Analytical and working in a multidisciplinary team, covering diverse areas of work, you will be: Assisting with the management and development of quality systems Enhance current processes; including the development and validation of new methods Support a diverse analytical laboratory covering raw materials, process control and environmental science portfolios. Today, it produces around 190,000 of primary aluminium each year. The smelter is situated on the Tamar River, approximately five kilometres from George Town and 45 kilometres from Launceston. We employ more than 500 Tasmanians and more than 60 full-time equivalent contractors who, on a typical day, undertake work at the smelter. For more than 65 years Bell Bay Aluminium has played a significant role in the social and economic wellbeing of George Town and Northern Tasmania through employment, community investment, and using local goods and services. In 2019, the site also received assuring customers the aluminium they purchase has been produced to the highest environmental, social and governance standards.
