Lab3 is one of the largest Azure engineering practices in the Australasia region with a focus on Cloud & DevOps, Data, IoT & AI, Modern Workplace, Modern Apps & Integration, Security, and Network services.
Looking for a Senior Engineer with deep experience in Azure Cloud & DevOps to be part of our managed services team and provide support to our clients. You will be the escalation point for Azure cloud & DevOps issues.
The role: Manage, support, and deliver large, complex cloud projects on Azure that ensure scalability, reliability, security, and optimum performance for our clients. Hands-on support for the provisioning of Azure system services including security monitoring and management. Deploy Azure services as a part of an IaC environment. Leverage CI/CD tools and pipelines to automate and improve platforms. Handle escalated issues for LAB 3 stakeholders as well as our clients, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution. This includes a rostered on-call responsibility. Support the delivery, management, and execution of ITIL service management policies, processes, and procedures. Drive Service Ops improvement plans and reduce the cost of delivering ITIL support, change and release processes; whilst striving to improve customer satisfaction. Partner with architects, consultants, and peers to jointly create functional design specifications and Azure reference architectures. Understand and apply the fundamentals around governance, licensing & security features, maintaining knowledge across the Microsoft ecosystem, to ensure best practice. Proactively manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of availability and integrity. Gather specifications and deliver solutions to our clients, help develop strategic account plans, recommend improvements and implement industry best practices where relevant. Work effectively with business & technical stakeholders, internal and external, to understand and fix issues and with the engineering squads to identify best practice configurations of platforms and resulting workloads aligned to Microsoft frameworks (CAF and WAF). The ideal candidate: Will have significant experience in the support & improvement of Azure Cloud & DevOps solutions. A deep customer focus with the desire to solve issues and to constantly exceed customer expectation using deep Azure DevOps skills, coupled with excellent communication skills. Experience with ITIL methodology (Incident, Change, Problem & Request) frameworks and tooling such as ServiceNow. Technical expertise on Azure & hybrid system management and the Microsoft Cloud Operating model (Azure Architected Frameworks). Experienced in using automation including Ansible, Bash, Go, Python, Chef. Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices, including Terraform and PowerShell. DevOps (CI/CD) expertise including Azure DevOps, YAML and branching strategies and policies. Experience with Azure Resource Manager, Bicep, Azure AD, MS Defender for cloud, Azure Enterprise scale landing zone and components, virtualization technology (VMWare, Hyper-V, KVM) including migrations. Knowledge of Azure Subscription Management, SQL, Cloud identity, Azure Backup, Azure Portal, Azure OMS, Application Layer Gateway, High availability, Load Balancing, Support compute services (VM, logic apps, web apps). Additional experience with Kubernetes (AKS), Containers including ACR, Windows and Linux Operating systems is desirable. Australian citizens eligible for AGSVA clearance or having this will be given preference. What's in it for you?
