What is this role about? The Support Engineer will ensure the availability, performance, and maintenance of mission-critical systems.
As a member of our DevOps Engineering team, you'll be responsible for:
Taking ownership of the operational lifecycle, including incident, change, and problem management. Proactively monitor systems, respond swiftly to incidents, and work to resolve underlying problems to prevent future occurrences, ensuring minimal service disruption and maximum uptime. Providing 24 x 7 rostered on-call support where required by management. Providing expertise and input into operational design and process. Ensuring appropriate user access and service requests are actioned to agreed standards. Maintaining and updating documentation related to configuration, processes, and best practices. Contributing to the organisation's mission of delivering resilient, high-performing technology services to its customers, while embracing the DevOps philosophy of continuous improvement and agility. What can you bring? Experience supporting NCR Authentic Switch or alternative transaction switching. Well versed with ISO8583 Standard. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Support Engineer or in a similar role. Experience operating within the ITIL framework. Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Powershell, Bash) for process automation. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Although not required, any experience in the following would be highly regarded:
Strong understanding and knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate management. Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in DevOps environments. Familiarity with financial systems, processes, and regulations. Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Bamboo, BitBucket, GitHub). Understanding of performance and security principles. Strong experience with AWS or other cloud platforms. Knowledge of working with codeless automation tools. What's it like to work here?
