About the role The Koorie Women's Diversion Case Manager plays a vital role in diverting Aboriginal women from the criminal justice system by providing intensive, culturally sensitive case management for up to eight clients.
This role involves delivering tailored support, coordinating treatment, and advocating for clients while working closely with justice agencies and building referral networks to improve justice outcomes.
About You This role requires a strong understanding of and commitment to VACCA's vision and values, along with an awareness of Aboriginal societies, cultures, and the key issues impacting Aboriginal communities.
A deep understanding of the factors contributing to Aboriginal women's involvement with the justice system is essential, along with knowledge of the justice system and relevant risk assessment frameworks.
The candidate must have experience in case management, providing effective support to Aboriginal families, particularly women, and possess strong planning, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Effective communication, conflict management, and decision-making in the best interests of children are also key components.
Requirements: Qualifications within the Justice system are desirable.
Diploma in Community Services; case management experience.
Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain), and a Victorian Driver Licence.
