Precedents Lawyer - Property & DevelopmentPRECEDENTS LAWYER - PROPERTY & DEVELOPMENT We are seeking to appoint a Knowledge Lawyer, either full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days) to join our Property & Development team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will have exceptional drafting skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work with lawyers at all levels.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Establishing, implementing and managing a knowledge framework, processes and policies to support the creation, collation, sharing, maintenance and development of the Property & Development team's knowledge assets and tools;Drafting, reviewing and amending precedents in accordance with changes in law or practice or identified requirements, in collaboration with lawyers and subject matter experts;Working closely with the Legal Operations team to help create and implement processes and practices designed to improve the team's operational efficiency and effectiveness;Assisting in identifying and implementing legal tools and systems to streamline the team's existing or new practices, as well as managing design, rollout, and training in respect of the new tools and systems;Working closely with team leaders and aligning with practice group planning to knowledge share and drive precedent development;Monitoring legislative change and Practice Notes and review for impact on legal practice, and updating practitioners with changes as they relate to precedents, practice and procedure;Maintaining the Style Guide and Precedents Guide and promoting use of RK Style across the firm;Training staff on use and development of precedents and firm templates;Skills/Knowledge Proven experience in property and development law including transactional conveyancing, leasing, development and local government.Exceptional plain business language drafting skills and attention to detail.Excellent literacy, spelling and grammar, together with a strong knowledge of legal terminology.Strong time management and organisational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both autonomously and cross functionally.Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook and Word.Strong document production skills including document editing and formatting skills.Interest in innovation, document workflows and automation technologies.Experience in legal project management or legal operations solutions would be highly desirable.Our Firm and Culture Russell Kennedy is a commercial law firm with more than 320 people in Melbourne and Sydney.
