Position Overview: As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing, integrating, and optimising the complex systems required for our motor core production processes. You will oversee the technical architecture, facilitate seamless integration across subsystems, and lead the design from initial concept to final deployment. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of systems that support the next and future generations of manufacturing operations, focusing on both technical and operational excellence.
Targeting Commencement in January/February 2025 Reporting to: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Key Responsibilities: System Design & Architecture: Lead the design and development of robust systems for motor core production, integrating hardware and software to ensure optimal performance and functionality. Develop and maintain detailed system architecture documentation, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry standards. Integration & Testing: Oversee system integration efforts to ensure compatibility and smooth communication between different subsystems. Establish comprehensive testing protocols, conducting rigorous validation and verification of system functions to ensure reliability and stability. Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to develop cohesive systems that meet all technical requirements. Act as a technical lead, facilitating cross-departmental coordination to ensure high-quality deliverables. Support project management to maintain project timelines. Risk Management & Problem-Solving: Identify potential risks early in the design process, developing strategies to ensure system stability and continuity. Lead troubleshooting efforts for system-related challenges, implementing solutions that enhance system robustness and efficiency. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain thorough documentation for system configurations, test plans, and integration processes. Ensure all systems and components adhere to relevant industry standards, certifications, and safety regulations. Innovation & Future Development: Drive the design of systems that support future advancements in manufacturing processes and technologies. Champion best practices in systems engineering, including model-based design, lifecycle management, and systems modelling. Qualifications/Skills: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Extensive knowledge of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, system architecture, and integration testing. Proficiency in systems modelling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) and experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, C++). Strong understanding of control systems, embedded systems, and data acquisition. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail-oriented, complex systems design. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and production equipment. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, preferably within the manufacturing or automotive industries. Demonstrated experience in system architecture design, integration, and testing in a multidisciplinary setting. Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is highly desirable.
