The Opportunity As the Operator of the Compost Facility, you'll oversee the receipt of organic waste in the Mallacoota area, undertaking all works with the highest regard for the environment and in a way that maximises efficiency and prevents contamination.
You'll operate and undertake daily maintenance checks of the site's plant (backhoe) and compost facility equipment including compliance checks and completion of any relevant documentation.
You'll also inspect, monitor and decontaminate incoming loads of organic waste, regularly tidying and maintaining the area and providing an outstanding level of customer service to the community and facility visitors.
This is a permanent part time role based in Mallacoota working 7.6 hours per week.
What you'll bring to the role (Key Selection Criteria) Experience or ability to operate a compost facility or similar infrastructure.Ability and qualifications to operate plant and equipment for the management of a transfer station.To be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, team members and the community.To be physically able to perform the duties of this position.Able to manage time and workload.A current, valid Victorian driver's licence and a Backhoe ticket.If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and pre-employment medical check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
