Be part of the amazing work and ministry of CRU by using your cookery trade and/or passionate catering skills to enhance our guests' experience at CRU Galston Gorge.
CRU, a Bible-based interdenominational Christian youth organisation, is seeking a permanent Kitchen Shift Leader to join the growing team.
CRU Galston Gorge caters for up to 220 guests in lodge-style accommodation. Your new office will be in the tranquil setting of nature which plays host to an impressive range of activities from ropes courses, abseiling, challenge courses, and a swimming pool, just to name a few.
As a Kitchen Shift Leader, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen during your designated shifts.
You will work closely with the kitchen management team to uphold high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness.
Responsibilities :
Lead kitchen staff during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient and organised operations. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain quality and consistency. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, safety procedures, and cleaning standards. Help ensure kitchen policies and procedures are upheld. Collaborate with the management team to develop menus. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Requirements :
Proven experience in a kitchen environment. Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen operations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively. Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Mature Christian faith and active involvement in a Christian church. This will be demonstrated by evidence of commitment to Christian ministry and service.
