Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team at the Odyssey House NSW Residential Program.
The successful applicant to this role will be a mature minded, collaborative individual who can juggle a few tasks simultaneously and who will work to ensure the smooth running of Odyssey House NSW Ingleburn and Eagle Vale Kitchens.
Reporting to the Operations and Residential Support Coordinator.
The Kitchen and Hospitality Supervisor acts to support the Coordinator- Operations and Residential Support and works closely with the Kitchen Operations Staff, to ensure the safe, effective, and therapeutic operations of the kitchens in the Odyssey Therapeutic Communities. The role also directly ensures the operations of the kitchen from menu planning to stock handling, to ordering, to meal preparation including safe equipment handling and safe food handling. The role is primarily responsible for facilitating the clients of the TC cooking and service food to their Community rather than doing the preparation and serving themselves .
Desired Skills and ExperienceSELECTION CRITERIA:
Relevant VET qualification or equivalent.Experience working in a commercial kitchen or similar.Experience in supporting and training within a kitchen or hospitality environment.Experience in meal preparation and planning including orders of supplies.Understanding of safe food handling and infection control practices.Ability to train persons in safe food handling, equipment handling and infection control.Understanding of nutrition support, particularly for vulnerable populations.Ability to work with vulnerable people or those with additional needs.Computer literacy including understanding of MS Office Suite and use of Client Management Systems.Understanding of the principles of the Privacy Act and its practical implementation in service delivery.Knowledge of and commitment to implement the principles of WHS.Hold or have the ability to obtain a current Criminal History Check and Working with Children clearance.Unlimited right to live and work in Australia. #J-18808-Ljbffr
