We are looking for a reliable and proactive Steward to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in our kitchen and dining areas.
The Steward will work closely with the kitchen team to assist in food preparation, dishwashing, and overall cleanliness, contributing to the smooth functioning of our culinary operations.
Responsibilities: Dishwashing: Operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to established standards.Kitchen Support: Assist kitchen staff in food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in food storage areas and workstations.Cleaning and Sanitization: Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, floors, and equipment regularly to maintain a hygienic environment.
Follow proper sanitation procedures to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses.Waste Management: Dispose of kitchen waste and recycling materials in designated bins.
Monitor waste levels and assist with waste removal as needed.Inventory Control: Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of cleaning supplies, detergents, and disposable items.
Report any shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents.
Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.Team Collaboration: Collaborate with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen and dining areas.
Communicate effectively and support colleagues as needed.General Maintenance: Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and repairing kitchen equipment, to ensure the smooth functioning of facilities.Requirements: Previous experience as a steward, dishwasher, or kitchen helper preferred but not required.Basic understanding of kitchen operations and sanitation practices.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.Attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness and organization.Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Apply nowName
