Join our team as a Kitchen Hand and be an integral part of the dynamic operations at our Remote FIFO Residential Village catering to 50 - 200 residents.
Role and Responsibilities Support the Kitchen and catering services operations of a Remote FIFO Residential Village with occupancy of 50 - 200 residents.Report to Head Chef and deliver site Kitchen food prep, dishwashing, and cleaning of kitchen and dining facility on dedicated shifts.Ensure full compliance with the contract and BGIS Food Safety Program and BGIS business systems.Meet OHS & E policies and procedures in kitchen & catering operations.Work closely with Head Chef, chefs, and other kitchen team members to ensure delivery of catering services and cleaning of facility according to contract scope.Complete kitchen and dining room cleaning tasks as per daily schedule with effective time management.Assist chefs in food preparation and meal service.Deliver customer service excellence and interactions while on shift.Comply with BGIS business systems, including Quality Management System (QMS), Occupational Health & Safety System (OH&S), and Environmental Management System (EMS).Understand WHSE requirements and processes for work tasks and the elimination of workplace hazards.Participate in near miss, hazard, and incident reporting.Conduct work activities in accordance with procedures, equipment, and training per BGIS Management system.Report hazards, unsafe work practices, near misses, or incidents immediately to your supervisor.Foster and maintain positive working relationships with customers and clients during daily services.Qualifications and Experience: Demonstrated experience in Remote camps kitchen and catering operations.Experience in using cleaning equipment and tools.Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.Experience working within an environment using QA, OH&S, and environmental systems.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Retail sales & Tavern experience is an advantage.Previous experience in a similar role.Familiarity with OH&S, QA, and systems.About BGIS: BGIS, with a global workforce of over 10,000 employees, is a leader in providing facility management, project delivery, energy and sustainability, asset management, workplace advisory, real estate, and technical services.
