About the role: An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Cook to join the Team! Based at a brand-new site in Wiri - Auckland, the successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in meeting all canteens quality, customer service and making coffees.? Reporting to the head chef, you will ensure efficient canteen operation and maintain high production, productivity, quality and customer service standards. Responsibilities of role include:
Preparing and delicious food items ready for meals withing our site cafeteria - the food is amazing at this site and all staff LOVE their meal breaks!!!
Providing exceptional customer service by taking orders, and finalizing sales using the cash till.
Handling food preparation tasks such as retrieving raw ingredients, cutting meats and fruits/vegetables and constructing sandwiches - help the magic happen at mealtime!
Brewing coffee by barista work and restocking coffee, sugar, tea, and milk in the lunchroom area
Washing and drying dishes, including keeping to strict hygiene standards in general.
Maintaining cleanliness in food preparation areas and equipment.
Receiving and storing raw ingredients and food supplies, including stock take of product.
Assisting with office/administration-based tasks to support the cafeteria function.
Experience that may be required:
Coffee making - barista experience is an advantage!
Previous experience in food service and customer-facing roles.
Have worked in kitchen food prep and or similar cooking roles.
Strong attention to detail and be able to work in fast paced environment.
Understand hygiene regulations and the need for cleanliness in food environment.
Ability to work efficiently and make sound decisions within a kitchen and food area.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work within a team.
Health and Safety knowledge and or food grade qualifications is an advantage.
