The role: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Technician to join our dynamic Hatchery team at our Proserpine site. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the successful production of high-quality post-larvae. You will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and the wider hatchery team to maintain optimal hatchery operations and uphold strict biosecurity standards.
Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to aquaculture licenses, regulations, company policies, and procedures. Conduct routine inspections of hatchery systems and equipment to maintain their functionality and operational efficiency. Monitor animal health and husbandry practices, promptly escalating any potential issues. Implement rigorous biosecurity measures, ensuring compliance with all relevant plans, policies, and procedures. Foster strong relationships with colleagues across all prawn farms. Role requirements: Demonstrate strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for sustainable aquaculture. Possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks. Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Build rapport and develop strong working relationships with team members. Proactively identify and resolve issues, adopting a strategic approach. Prior experience in aquaculture, while highly desirable, is not essential.
