About the role As a First Support Case Support Worker you will complete a comprehensive carer assessment (Part B) and can offer up to 100 hours of support to assist the child/ren to settle into their new placement. This support includes regular home visits, care team participation, helping carers to navigate DFFH, DET and Centrelink, as well as having access to a small amount of flexible brokerage.
About You Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children. Relevant tertiary qualification in Community/Human Services/ Social Work fields. Ability to advocate for Aboriginal children and communicate in a clear, culturally appropriate, and respectful way with a range of stakeholders including staff and external parties. Ability to identify the training and support needs of kinship carers, particularly non-Aboriginal kinship carers in terms of their cultural competence and connection to the Aboriginal community. Excellent conceptual and writing skills, with the ability to write reports and assessments. Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain), and a Victorian Driver Licence.
