We are on the hunt for a dynamic and visionary Head of Engineering to lead our engineering practice.
If you are a Software Development Manager or Technical Lead with both good technical skills and people leadership skills, this may be the next step for you.
Your role will be pivotal in delivering innovative software projects and enhancements that align with our product vision and business strategy.
In this role, your strategic mindset, technical expertise, and strong leadership will enable you to:
Lead & Inspire: Manage and motivate engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Engineering & Testing Practice: Lead the engineering and testing practices within the team, defining and implementing good testing and coding practices.
Technical Guidance: Provide technical and tactical guidance to develop, upgrade, migrate, streamline and align our technology stacks.
Delivery: Provide leadership in the delivery of products and business outcomes.
DevOps Practices: Implement and improve DevOps practices including the refinement of observability and alerting.
Drive Strategy: Shape and execute engineering plans aligned with the broader company strategy and product vision.
Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with Product, Architecture, and Delivery teams to accelerate capabilities and ensure smooth execution of software projects.
Ensure Quality & Compliance: Define and implement best practices, standards, and frameworks, ensuring high-quality software outcomes and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Optimize Operations: Identify areas for process efficiency and automation, driving enhancements to streamline development and delivery processes.
Vendor Management: Build and manage strong contractor and vendor relationships including contract management.
About you:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role .
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of software development principles, practices, and regulatory standards.
Demonstrated experience in delivering complex software projects and driving process improvements.
Mindset: Strong business acumen and a customer-centric mindset.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Leadership & People Management: Proven ability to inspire, lead, and develop high-performing teams.
Communication: Excellent skills in conveying complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in software development, automation, testing, and quality assurance.
Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects with a focus on timelines, budgets, and resources.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on implementing effective solutions.
Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly across departments to achieve business objectives.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop and execute strategic plans for the engineering practice, aligned with company goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Architecture, Sales) to enhance engineering capabilities and deliver business outcomes.
Manage team capacity and forecasting, ensuring readiness to meet demand and project requirements.
Lead people management efforts, including hiring, performance management, and professional development of software developers.
Promote best practices, standards, and technical excellence across the engineering teams.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement, keeping the team at the forefront of industry trends and technologies.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure that project outcomes are sound, efficient, and meet customer needs.
Partner with Sales to support new business initiatives through technical leadership.
