About our company: KestrelCoal Resources ("Kestrel") is one of the world's largest producing underground coking, or metallurgical coal mines and produces around 7 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually. Our coal is shipped to key markets in Asia and Europe to be used in the steel making process. The mine is located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 40km Northeast of Emerald in Central QLD. Our team's capability covers the entire mining process, from development to extraction and processing, environmental management and sustainable rehabilitation. We have an approved life of mine until 2033 and reserves to 2046 with the potential to increase further.

About the role: Are you a motivated law student seeking hands-on experience and the chance to enhance your skills? We have an exciting opportunity for a Law Student to join our Brisbane-based in-house legal team. This role offers valuable exposure to legal work in a supportive environment, with the potential to transition into a part-time position.

In this role, you will support Kestrel by: Assisting the Senior Legal Counsel with a variety of legal tasks. Conducting legal research and providing insights. Reviewing and cross-checking documentation for accuracy. Preparing and reviewing contracts. Contributing to legal projects and initiatives to support business operations. About you: Current enrolment in a law degree, with one year remaining to complete your law degree. Completion of any of the following courses would be an advantage: contract, commercial; company; mining or environmental law. A proactive and self-motivated approach to learning and work. The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. Strong organisational and time management skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
