The Opportunity:
As a Subcontracts Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality contract execution and ensuring Kent's contractual obligations are met to the highest standards. Working closely with the Manager and project teams, you'll manage subcontracts from formation to completion, negotiate terms, and provide expert advice to stakeholders.
This role demands a strategic thinker with a focus on cost optimisation, risk mitigation, and delivery excellence. You'll prepare forecasts, monitor budgets, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with company governance, safety standards, and Kent's Management System.
Day to Day, your role will include: Uphold company standards for quality, governance, safety, and compliance with Kent's systems. Collaborate with the Subcontracts team and project stakeholders on contract-related matters. Provide expert advice on contract procedures, negotiations, and dispute resolution. Draft, negotiate, and manage subcontracts, including variations and terms. Monitor budgets, prepare cost forecasts, and track financial status. Address contractual issues such as invoicing, certifications, and insurances. Support the development and execution of handover processes and key documents. Approve payment applications and invoices, ensuring alignment with contract terms. Actively contribute to implementing and maintaining Kent's Management System (KMS). About you:
We're looking for someone with tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related field, and proven experience in a similar role, ideally in industries like Oil and Gas, Energy, or EPC. Strong skills in numbers, commercial principles, and advanced computer proficiency (including ERP systems) are key for success.
