About the role:
The Contracts Administrator is responsible for managing the preparation, review and administration of contracts and agreements, with a particular focus on subcontractor agreements for the project. This role ensures that all contracts comply with contractual terms, legal requirements and organizational policies, minimizing risk and safeguarding project interests.
Your responsibilities will include: Drafting and Negotiating Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including service agreements, supply agreements, purchase orders, non-disclosure agreements, and subcontracts. Tailor contract terms to address specific project requirements and mitigate legal, financial, and operational risks. Policy and Compliance Alignment: Ensure all contracts align with organizational policies and objectives and comply with applicable laws and regulations. This includes thorough customization of contract templates to address project-specific risks and requirements. Stakeholder Collaboration and Term Negotiation: Work closely with internal stakeholders and subcontractors to negotiate contract terms, such as pricing, delivery schedules, performance standards, and penalties for non-compliance. Clarify and resolve any ambiguities or issues related to contract terms before final approval. Contract Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments for proposed contracts, identifying potential liabilities and risks, especially in relation to subcontractor agreements. Proactively highlight any high-risk areas for internal review and mitigation. Contract Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation to renewal or termination. This includes tracking key milestones and ensuring timely renewals, amendments, and closeouts for subcontractor agreements. Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement: Monitor and enforce contract compliance, ensuring both internal stakeholders and subcontractors adhere to agreed terms and conditions. Conduct regular compliance checks and enforce corrective actions as needed. Advisory and Support on Contractual Obligations: Serve as a point of guidance for departments on contractual obligations, risks, and opportunities, especially in relation to subcontractor performance. Provide advice to support contract administration and risk mitigation efforts. Other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed. About You:
Our ideal candidate will possess a Tertiary Degree, knowledge in Law would be highly desirable. You will have excellent negotiating skills and a background in a construction environment.
