Utilise your Prison and Corrective Services expertise to provide support and advice to Corrections Victoria at Melbourne Assessment PrisonAn Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public ServiceAbout the Business Unit: The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing state-wide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and is located within the North West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice.
MAP consists of the prison, the custody facilities at the County, Supreme and Appeal Courts and holding cells at St Vincent's Hospital for prisoners requiring outpatient medical treatment.
About the Role: In a Justice Service Centre environment, a Justice Officer provides a combination of reception and concierge functions, and administrative and business support services.
Some of your duties will include:
As part of the Property team, and under supervision, providing high quality services and performing functions pertaining to prisoner property and visitor enquiries at the MAPEnsuring Occupational Health & Safety and securing storage up to 15kgs of prisoner propertyData entry using departmental computer program – accurately entering detailed descriptions of prisoner property while recording, maintaining and transferring prisoner property and valuables electronically and physically.This position requires direct prisoner contact and does involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.
