About This Role
Utilise your Administrative expertise to provide support and advice to the Justice Services branch in North West Metro
An Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service
VPS Grade 2: $56,834 - $72,985 plus superannuation.
About The Business Unit
The North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA) accounts for approximately 1800 staff across 21 sites. These sites deliver a range of services including custodial services at prisons, Community Correctional Services, Youth Justice Services, Sheriff's Operations, Consumer Affairs, front of house enquiries (including Births, Deaths and Marriages applications) and management of community services (including Victims' Support across the area).
About The Role
The Justice Officer is a position in Corporate Governance and Support team with the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS), North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA). The Justice Officer role is to deliver friendly, efficient customer service to clients of the Department of Justice and Regulation, as well as providing consistent, timely and accurate administrative support to regional locations and staff.
The position is based at the Tullamarine Office. However, it is an expectation of the role that the successful applicant is willing to support at other locations across either the North Metro (Broadmeadows, Coolaroo, Reservoir, South Morang, Tullamarine, and Heidelberg). A driver's license is therefore preferred but not essential.
Please note that Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. Any above base requests require sign off by an executive delegate and will be by exception only or where required to match the current salary of Victorian Public Service staff transferring at level.
Some Of Your Duties Will Include
Provide a range of high quality and efficient front of house administrative services, such as Consumer Affairs or Births, Deaths and Marriages enquiries and applications, and other services relevant to the location.
Provide information and assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders and the public including the collation, review and processing of applications.
Provide reception and telephone responses for the location.

About You
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
Written Communication – The ability to produce a range of standard written documents, providing clear information and using language appropriate to the audience.
Verbal Communication – The ability to assess your audience and provide appropriately tailored and clear information and explanations to a range of groups in an effective and confident manner, dealing with challenging behaviour firmly but politely.
Computer Skills – The ability to effectively use departmental computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, and internet and intranet functions.
