Utilise your customer service and administration expertise to provide support and advice to the Justice Services - North West Metro branchFixed-Term (until June 2026), Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public ServiceAbout Us: The Justice Officer is a position in Corporate Governance and Support team with the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS), North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA).
The North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA) accounts for approximately 1800 staff across 21 sites. These sites are located in either the North or West of the Area and deliver a range of services including: custodial services at prisons, Community Correctional Services, Youth Justice Services, Sheriff's Operations, Consumer Affairs, front of house enquiries (including Births, Deaths and Marriages applications) and management of community services (including Victims' Support across the area). In addition, there are two Executive Officer roles of the Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Council, West and North.
About the Role: The Justice Officer role is to deliver friendly, efficient customer service to clients of the Department of Justice and Regulation, as well as providing consistent, timely and accurate administrative support to regional locations and staff.
The position is based at the Sunshine Justice Service Centre. However, it is an expectation of the role that the successful applicant is willing to support at other locations across either the North Metro (Broadmeadows, Coolaroo, Reservoir, South Morang, Tullamarine, and Heidelberg). A driver's license is therefore preferred but not essential.
Some of your duties will include:
Accountabilities differ depending on the work location.Providing a range of high quality and efficient front of house administrative services, such as Consumer Affairs or Births, Deaths and Marriages enquiries and applications, and other services relevant to the location.Providing information and assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders and the public including the collation, review and processing of applications.Providing reception and telephone responses for the location. Written Communication – produce a range of standard written documents, providing clear information and using language appropriate to the audience.Verbal Communication – Assesses audience and provides appropriately tailored and clear information and explanations to a range of groups in an effective and confident manner, dealing with challenging behaviour firmly but politely.Computer Skills – effectively use departmental computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, and internet and intranet functions.Interpersonal Skills – builds rapport with others in order to understand issues and suggest courses of action appropriate to their needs.How to Apply: Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
