On 13 September 2024, the ACT Government assumed a caretaker role, with an election to be held 19 October 2024. Information on this website will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions until after the election and conclusion of the caretaker period.Legal and Policy AdviserFull-time PermanentDetails: The Legal & Policy Adviser role will perform a diverse range of functions, with support from the Manager, Victim Rights and Reform, to drive systemic reform to promote the rights and interests of people affected by crime. You will prepare policy and legislative reform advice and submissions on behalf of the VOCC, provide advocacy and trauma-informed support to victims of crime, work with internal and external stakeholders to implement the Charter of Rights for Victims of Crime, and assist with VSACT's response to subpoenas and/or requests for information.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. An order of merit or merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future similar vacancies over the next 12 months.
