Justice and Attorney-General (Organisation site ( http://www.justice.qld.gov.au/ ) ) Victim Liaison Service; Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions; Brisbane City The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is seeking expressions of interest for an AO7 State Manager in the Victim Liaison Service team.
The State Manager will oversee a statewide victim liaison service to victims of crime and provides professional and supervisory support to Victim Liaison Officers and Coordinators based in Chambers across the state.
This is a temporary flexible full-time role until 30 June 2025, with a possibility of extension.

The ODPP's significant responsibility is to prosecute criminal matters in various courts.
About your opportunity A temporary AO7 State Manager role is available on a flexible full-time basis, until 30 June 2025 with a possibility of extension.
As a State Manager the incumbent will: Oversee service delivery in accordance with the Charter of Victims' Rights, by setting service delivery standards and ensuring consistent high-quality services are delivered to victims of crime, including complaints referral and assessment processes.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures associated with the provision of accurate and timely information and monitor implementation by chamber-based staff.
Develop metrics and targets for the victim liaison service, and use the data to identify and address issues, to drive performance improvement.
Lead a team of Victim Liaison Coordinators in the delivery of victim liaison services, and provide advice, guidance and training to coordinators and Victim Liaison Officers.
Recruit and train sufficient staff to ensure continuity of service provisions, in consultation with the ODPP HR Unit.
Establish the Victim Liaison Call Centre Pilot, including providing policy, procedures and processes for call centre liaison officers, working across two shifts each business day.
Initiate contact with victims of violent crimes and assist them through the legal process.
Oversee the quality, content and timelines of correspondence with victims, police officers, legal practitioners and court staff.
The successful candidate will demonstrate: Strong organisational skills, including experience in establishing new teams, and/or implementing organisation changes.
Ability to understand the interaction between victims of personal violence and the Criminal Justice System, including knowledge of applicable legislation.
Well-developed interpersonal and written skills, including the ability to liaise and consult effectively with staff and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and written communication skills, and experience in developing reports, statistical findings, to drive change and advocate for practice improvement.
Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines in a high-pressure work environment.
Strong and effective leadership skills including the ability to motivate, mentor and build the capability of victim liaison staff.
Professional and ethical standards, an appreciation of diversity and inclusion principles and highly developed cultural capabilities.
This role does not require qualifications, however tertiary qualifications in social services, psychology, law and criminology will be looked upon favourably.
