As the Junior Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting with the efficient management of the day-to-day operations of the Culinary Department.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping our culinary identity and upholding our reputation for culinary excellence. You will assist to lead a talented team of culinary professionals, driving innovation in the kitchen, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional cuisine.
Responsibilities · Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and execution of dishes that showcase local flavours and seasonal ingredients.
· Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items to ensure they meet Hyatt's high standards of quality and consistency.
· Mentor and guide junior kitchen staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning, growth, and culinary excellence.
· Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
· Collaborate with the culinary team to create new and innovative dishes that will delight our guests and enhance their dining experience.
Qualifications Qualifications · Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen environment.
· Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar is preferred.
· Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
· Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
· Passion for food and a creative approach to cooking.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
· Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team player mentality.
In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation. Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Good understanding of computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) Proven knowledge and experience in all operational and functional aspects of kitchen administration.
