Community Justice Services SA Ltd (CJSSA) are seeking a motivated and dedicated Junior Solicitor to join our general legal team at the Christies Beach office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality and timely legal services to clients, ensuring accessibility and adherence to CJSSA's policies and values. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the community by supporting those in need, including people with disabilities and mental health challenges.As a Junior Solicitor, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality legal support to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients across South Australia's Southern, Southeast, and Riverland regions. This is an opportunity to work within a community-focused legal team, providing advice, casework, and court representation in areas such as Family, Criminal, and Civil law. If you are passionate about social justice and want to develop your legal career in a supportive and dynamic environment, this role offers the perfect platform to make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.Key Responsibilities:Conduct client consultations and provide legal advice, casework, representation, and assistance across Family, Criminal, and Civil matters.Negotiate legal issues professionally and support clients in resolving matters through appropriate channels.Represent clients in Court proceedings with competence and professionalism.Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information with the utmost care.Prepare clear, accurate legal documents, court submissions, and file notes.Contribute to community legal education efforts as directed.Ensure thorough maintenance of client records and statistical information.Work effectively with diverse populations, particularly those facing disabilities or mental health challenges.Provide appropriate referrals to other legal and support services as necessary.Stay up-to-date with legal practices and attend professional development opportunities.Comply with CJSSA's policies, professional conduct rules, and relevant guidelines.Participate in team meetings, supervision, and case discussions, providing support to senior solicitors when required.Qualifications:A degree in law and admission to practice as a Lawyer in Australia.Eligible to be/or admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia.Eligible to be admitted to the Register of the High Court of Australia.Eligible for/or currently holding a South Australia Practising Certificate.Experience in, or demonstrated capacity to undertake, direct legal service delivery, including provision of advice and referral services, negotiation and advocacy on behalf of clients, representation of clients in courts and other legal settings.Skills, Knowledge and Experience:Knowledge of and experience in practice and procedure in the Family Court, Federal Circuit Court, Magistrates and relevant State Courts and Tribunals, in particular those relating to Family Law jurisdiction.Knowledge of Family Law, Criminal Law, Civil Law and other relevant Acts and legal developments.Understanding of the concepts of Family Law Mediation, Conflict Management and Collaborative Law.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Sound computer literacy and legal research skills.Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to social justice principles, understanding of the legal assistance sector and a commitment to Community Justice Services SA Ltd vision and values.Ability to work co-operatively under the direction of Management.Have a commitment to improving the personal and social situation of people from financially and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.Ability to work and contribute towards a positive team environment.Well-developed organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to adapt to a changing environment.Holds a current South Australian Driver's Licence and has access to a reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle.This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Solicitor interested in working in a community-focused legal environment.
