Junior School TeacherWe are seeking an innovative and qualified classroom teacher for a full-time position in our Junior School (P-6) to commence Term 1, 2025.The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent subject knowledge of the NSW K-6 Curriculum and possess the capability to inspire students in their love of learning.
Position Description Position Title: Junior School Teacher
Responsible to: Principal
Reports to: Head of Junior School
Key Stakeholders: All internal and external stakeholders
Overview: Excellent knowledge of and the ability to teach NSW K-6 curriculum Ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the learning needs of a diverse student body Competence and interest in your classroom practice Passion for Primary and Infants teaching and the capacity to encourage and inspire students in their love of learning Duties & Responsibilities: Actively support and promote the Christian ethos of Calrossy in a manner that is inclusive and sensitive to the life experiences of students, parents, and staff. At all times promote the School's Christian values in a practical and accessible way that promotes our mission to provide excellence in a Christian environment. Uphold the Schools core values of Integrity, Selflessness, Inclusiveness, Resilience. Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Appropriate NSW teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation Current Working with Children Check First Aid Certificate Thorough knowledge of NSW K-6 curriculum and teaching standards Demonstrated capacity to integrate technology into effective teaching and learning for modern learners, including strong computer literacy skills and ability to learn new school systems Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the learning needs of a diverse student body Demonstrated ability to develop outcomes-based assessment tasks Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, a capacity to maintain positive relationships and foster teamwork across the school body and wider community. Roles, Responsibilities and Expectations of a Primary School Teacher: Approval to teach NSW students from Kindergarten to Year 6 Excellence in teaching Work collaboratively, co-operatively and flexibly with grade partners and specialist teachers to develop, implement, register and evaluate teaching and learning programs Be concerned for the wellbeing and learning of all students in the class An aptitude to enthuse students, both boys and girls Demonstrate enthusiasm and expertise for the subjects being taught Seek to assist each student in classes regardless of ability Play a part as a collegial member of the Junior School in sharing ideas on teaching, assessment and programming Willingness to contribute to the school's co-curricular programs Support of the school's Wellbeing program Perform duties to the best of your ability and be accountable for your performance Participate in any in-house training programs, as well as other job-specific training that is identified as required for this job description Participate and contribute to team meetings and School functions Participate in workplace change where required Comply with the School's Code of Conduct Follow reasonable instructions given by your supervisor or their delegate Perform any other duties as required by the Head of Junior School or her nominees from time to time Work, Health & Safety: While at work take reasonable care for their own health and safety Take reasonable care for the health and safety of others Comply with any reasonable instruction from Calrossy and report concerns to your supervisor Follow defined WH&S policies and procedures of the school Selection Criteria: These selection criteria will form the basis to assess applicants for short-listing and determine the successful candidate: SC1.
