The position is a full-time teaching position with an annual salary of $124,758 for a teacher with 8+ years teaching experience.
The Junior School Learning Diversity and Engagement Teacher promotes The Cathedral School's commitment to personalised learning by working to support the learning of students with diverse learning needs.
This role includes assisting with the implementation of measures to identify students that may require additional support to achieve learning growth and successful engagement. The Learning Diversity and Engagement Teacher will facilitate the development of strategies to support the learning of these students, including assisting teachers in developing strategies associated with differentiation and adjustment.
The position of the Learning Diversity and Engagement Teacher is responsible for overseeing eight key areas:
Student Support Relationships with the Parent Community Teacher Professional Learning and Collaborative Planning Differentiation Specific Learning Programs Pastoral Care Member of the Learning Enrichment Team Teaching Requirements The Junior School Learning Diversity and Engagement Teacher will be required to meet the following Essential Criteria and actively work towards obtaining the desired competencies, knowledge, and skills.
Qualifications Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood or Primary Education. Queensland College of Teachers registration. Current First Aid and CPR certificates. Competencies, Knowledge & Skills Adhere to the expectations of the school's Teaching and Learning Framework. Ability to use student data in support of an evidence-based approach to innovation and quality. Ability to integrate technology into learning programs and lesson delivery for the enhancement of student outcomes. Ability to differentiate for different learning styles through accepting individual differences in ability, need and learning styles. Knowledge of the complex personal and social issues that can impact learning and engagement. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the pursuit of team goals. Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, communication, and consulting skills, that build and maintain positive and productive working relationships. Excellent organisational, planning, and time-management skills. Ability to manage conflict, difficult conversations and resolve issues proactively and respectfully. Willingness to coordinate co-curricular activities. Desirable Competencies, Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports process.
