The Role:
Commencing at the start of the 2025 academic year this fixed term part-time 0.4 FTE opportunity reports to the Learning Development Coordinator - Junior School. The Learning Development teachers are constructive team members, ensuring appropriate programs are developed for students requiring learning support.
Learning Development teachers case manage students who receive support and intervention by developing a management plan in collaboration with classroom teachers.
The Average Day:
Create and maintain a positive atmosphere that will motivate students for future achievement and foster their sense of individual worth
Spend a significant time as directed supporting students in one-on-one intervention support (or small group support where appropriate)
Test and diagnose learning difficulties using a range of valid instruments, both diagnostic and standardised
Identify students who may qualify for funding under the NCCD and complete ISV funding applications for students who qualify for funding
Facilitate referral of students to specialists or agencies outside the School, according to need, and maintain liaison with all professionals concerned with the students' needs
The Person:
To be successful in this position, you will have:
Post graduate qualifications or working towards in Special Education/Inclusive Education
Current best practice in additional needs student learning
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Strong interpersonal skills
Digital literacy
A valid Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) registration is a requirement of employment in this position.
