About the Role The Junior School Learning and Teaching Coordinator (P – 5) works directly to the Head of Junior School and under the strategic leadership of the Director of Learning and Teaching.
This is one of three Junior School Coordinators (Studies Coordinator and Student Wellbeing Coordinator) who, along with the Head of Junior School, comprise the Junior School Leadership Team.
This team provides Christian leadership, implementation of the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Junior School (P – 5).
They are responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of a rich and invigorating, Christ-centred learning experience for students from Preschool to Year 5.
They take the lead role in designing and implementing an authentic Christian curriculum across the school, which gives attention to: the empowerment of children as active agents in their own learning; the inclusion of the child's world (family and community); a holistic approach to children's growth and development.
The Junior School Learning and Teaching Coordinator (P – 5) is a full-time Position of Responsibility 2 (PR2) and will undertake a 0.6 FTE teaching load in the Junior School.
Essential Criteria A sharp, research-informed progressive vision of learning and teaching and the capacity to create a rich and invigorating learning environment in a Christian learning community of excellence.
A gifted, dynamic teacher with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the development and educational needs of students and a passion for encouraging them in faith in Jesus Christ.
Excellent academic qualifications and subject knowledge.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to relate with compassion, humility, grace, strength and integrity to students, families and staff.
