Junior Sales Engineer – Nortek Australia We are looking for a proactive Sales Engineer with a strong technical mindset who wants to work with technology developed for oceanography and subsea navigation. What do we do? At Nortek, we develop and manufacture world-leading instruments that collect information about the processes taking place in our oceans.
There is a need to understand more about the role of the oceans in areas such as climate, food production, marine health and sustainability, and energy production.
Our technology is used for studies of coral reefs, navigation of underwater vehicles, measurement of currents and waves, and quality assurance of fish farming among other applications.
The interest in the ocean is increasing, and our company is growing.

What will your role and tasks be with us? As a Sales Engineer at Nortek Australia, you will work closely with our team to support new and existing customers throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Primarily, you will work with clients to provide a technically suitable solution to their project requirements.
This is a dynamic, multidisciplinary scientific and technology environment spanning many industries.
Flexibility, adaptability and a learned level of technical competence is required to be effective in this role.
The ideal candidate can generate activity and find new users that can benefit from our technology.
You will have a genuine interest in seeing clients succeed in their projects.
You should also enjoy speaking with clients, traveling, organizing activities and working with your colleagues to come up with new strategies.
As part of a global organization, you will work with a team of professionals with a high level of competence.
You will report to the Nortek Australia Director.
Areas of responsibility include: Work closely and assist other members of the Australian team in prospecting new customers and maintaining existing customers.Support senior staff in the execution and planning of sales activities, marketing, conference attendance, trade shows and Nortek-run events.Regular local, national and international travel to attend events and for client visits (approximately 25%).Obtain an understanding of Nortek technology to a high competence and the ability to share information professionally.
A hands-on approach to the technology at a level where you could present information and train others to use our products effectively.Assist and advise customers on a broad range of applications, from both a sales and technical support perspective.Handle incoming sales processes and oversee orders during the manufacturing and delivery of new products.-Location - Hobart.
What qualifications are we looking for? We are looking for a professional who has a relevant Master's or Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or marine technology.
Relevant industry or work experience is an advantage and may compensate for lack of formal training.
