About the role WesTrac is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate/Junior Reliability Engineer to join our team based at Mt. Thorley. As a Junior Reliability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in presenting facts and data to establish, implement and mentor reliability programs that minimise machine downtime and asset costs, using reliability engineering principles to reduce the risk of failure and ensure the fleet's total cost of ownership is always improving, understood and minimised in line with customer expectations.
The successful applicant will be responsible for liaison between WesTrac Site Performance Specialists, Mining Support teams and Product Health Team to ensure swift problem-solving and continuous improvement of Caterpillar equipment.
This position is a full-time permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The hours are 07:30am – 4:00pm.
Key Responsibilities Provide Condition Monitoring solutions based on facts and data to resolve customers' issuesManage Customer Data Through Excel into PowerBiStreamline efficiencies with maintaining fleet reliabilityPrioritization of improvement work performed for customersHigh Focus on Machine Continuous Improvement and Industry Best PracticeImprovements within WesTrac's reliability processesCollaborate closely with technical communicators and engineers to gather relevant data and insightsUtilise advanced analytical tools and methodologies to interpret failure patterns and trendsPrepare comprehensive failure analysis reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actionsCommunicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including service technicians, engineers, and management, to disseminate analysis results and drive continuous improvement initiativesStay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in failure analysis to enhance expertise and contribute to team knowledgeSkills & Experience Tertiary qualification within EngineeringStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusionsProficiency in using analytical tools, root cause analysis, and statistical analysisExcellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiencesHighly analytical with the ability to analyse and report on data efficientlyAbility to build and maintain relationships throughout the businessMeticulous approach with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in analysis and reportingAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAs one of the World's leading Caterpillar dealers, WesTrac services a broad range of customers across NSW, ACT & WA.
