The Company: The 1st quarter of 2024 is over and already this smaller mid-tier builder is embracing a solid start to this year's portfolio. In 2023 this firm had a highly successful year doubling its profit margins and developing new core teams to their business. From concept through to completion their depth and knowledge of successfully winning small to medium Retail fit-out projects ($500,000 to $15 million), hold them very much in a sought-after position in Sydney, allowing them to enter niche markets, and to continuously evolve. This impressive Firm has a great supportive culture and aims to develop its own staff and promote from within, where possible.
The Role: As a driven Junior Project Manager you will report directly to the Managing Director and will run multiple projects with 2 x Site Managers and labourers reporting directly to you. You will be given the support of both contract administrators on site, as well as site managers for the delivery of a major retail shop client in the Eastern Suburbs. The role requires liaising with subcontractors, site teams, and clients as well as writing reports and monitoring the Budgets. The role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad variety of projects and once offered you will have the autonomy to operate on your own, as well as the support to be developed long term. This role is not a senior level requirement and could support someone who is climbing the career ladder and looking for the next step in his or her career. A can-do proactive attitude and having client-facing and computer skills are key to the successful candidate for this 33-week program starting in June.
Projects consist of: New Build & Full Fit Out from the Ground up. Hospitality – High-end hotel chains, restaurants Supermarkets H&M (doing our first one in Townsville) Scentre Group (Westfield) Best and Less Dan Murphys Type of Work: Fit out to cold shells
Fit out to warm shells (very few)
Renovations/Extensions
Extensions into adjoining tenancies (in shopping centers)
Front, side and rear extensions on standalone buildings
New build construction
Key Responsibilities: Deliver projects from $400,000 up to $5 million project. Manage, liaise and coordinate subcontractors Ensure the project is delivered on time and on cost. Assist in site set up and final handover. Ensure compliance with all on site regulations. Proven track record working as part of a large team in a busy live environment. Duties: You must have experience working for a well-respected construction company and a proven track record delivering schemes in excess of $2 million.
Skills and Experience: Record of dealing with commercial/retail projects. High level of planning and organizational skills. Track record of liaising closely with PM's and Subcontractors. Demonstrate excellent team working skills. Excellent communication skills. Proven track record working as part of a large team in a busy live environment.
