Duties & Responsibilities

Your role will be to oversee the successful completion of projects and be able to work within a wide variety of fields.
You will be responsible for setting deadlines, communicating with company executives about the state of any given project, and potentially communicating with clients.
Handle client escalations about the state of any given project, ensuring the projects stay on track and on budget, adjusting if necessary to meet new requirements.
You will manage six different aspects of projects within the company: scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources.
Throughout any given project, this role will need to communicate with staff and clients, make decisions, and monitor the project's progress to keep on schedule.
Creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources.
Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects.
Assisting in the definition of project scope and goals.
Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress the project.
Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same projects to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
Communicating with executives or management to keep the project aligned with the goals.
Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
Adjusting schedules and targets on the projects as needed.
Client termination process monitoring, including sending termination letters and communications to clients, and internal project closure and announcements.
Handle projects related to the Operations department and work with the Head of Operations.
Manage departmental KPIs, reporting, and individual KPIs for the department.
Handle legal communications internally and externally.
The pivotal part of this role is to ensure that the "Project Manager - Operations" thrives for the team and the CEO.

Minimum Requirements

Have an understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework.
Knowledge of various project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum/Lean Development).
At least 5 years of previous experience in a similar role.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
Certification as a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager.
Knowledge of the tax and accounting industry.
Previous work history in a CPA firm.
Proven leadership and staff management skills.
Six Sigma certification preferred.

USA business hours include mandatory overlap (8:00 am to 12:00 noon Arizona time).
Billable teams (Bookkeepers, Tax preparers, Customer care, and admins) may expect to work at least 50 hours per week during tax season, with weekends potentially required.
Availability for on-call emergencies outside of normal working hours, only when needed.
