About the role An opportunity has arisen for a junior Legal Secretary to join aclose-knit and friendly team within our General Insurance practice.Supporting a Partner directly, the work will primarily relate tothe defence of claims involving insurance coverage, publicliability and litigation across Australia arising from all types ofasbestos, silica and other dust exposures.
Your day to day responsibilities will be varied, but willinclude:
Opening of new matters and closing andarchiving of completed mattersConducting conflict searchesSolicitor Diary managementTelephone calls with clients, Courts/Tribunals, other lawfirms, and third parties (e.g. medical practices, medico-legalcompanies etc.)Arranging medical appointmentsDrafting and amending routine correspondencePreparation and filing of court documents, includingsubpoenas, tender bundles etc. and arranging serviceCollating briefs to Counsel and medical expertsElectronic and hard copy filing and setting upsub-folders for electronic filesMonthly billing, including invoicing and preparation ofbills. Previous experience with Aderant / Expert Billing willbe highly regardedAbout you To be successful in this role, you will ideally have 1-2years' administrative or secretarial experience gained in alaw firm or other professional services environment. Yourdedication to providing our clients with exceptional customerservice, and your enthusiasm and willingness to work as part of acollaborative team will be valued.
