About the Role: We are looking for a Junior Lawyer to join our growing legal team. Reporting to our Legal Counsel, you will provide support across a range of legal functions. This newly created role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your legal skills in a collaborative environment while contributing to the company's legal compliance and risk management efforts.
As a Junior Lawyer, you will work closely with the commercial and legal teams to assist in managing legal and internal processes, drafting and reviewing contracts, and handling dispute resolution, including overseeing both contractual disputes and litigation. With the support of our experienced in-house legal team and external law firms, you will play a key role in the company's legal and risk management approach, helping to shape and streamline legal operations.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in managing legal disputes, including letters of demand, litigated proceedings and contractual disputes, including managing internal stakeholders and communications.Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and tribunal timelines.Help draft Statements of Claim and assist in responding to legal proceedings across various jurisdictions.Update and review company agreements and documents, ensuring they meet current legislation and commercial requirements.Support dispute resolution efforts by preparing deeds and documentation for amicable resolutions.Conduct contract reviews, including Australian standards, GC 21's, and bespoke contracts.Assist in aligning agreements with head contract requirements and ensuring seamless pass-through conditions.Help manage subcontractor relationships and disputes, offering legal guidance where needed.Assist in cross-functional stakeholder management, collaborating closely with various teams across the business.About You: You have recently completed your Bachelor of Laws (LLB).Admitted to practice in New South Wales.You have up to 2 years of post-graduation experience (or paralegal experience) in a legal setting, ideally with exposure to construction and/or commercial law.Strong legal acumen, with a good understanding of the construction industry.You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.You possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities.A proactive, problem-solving approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.What's in it for you?
