Junior Hydrogeologist | Perth or BrisbanePay: CompetitiveLocation: Perth/Western AustraliaEmployment type: Full-TimeJob DescriptionIn this role, you'll work with our national Mine Water team as a Junior Hydrogeologist to support the team in undertaking hydrogeological assessments and successfully managing and contributing to projects with a hydrogeological focus. Our Mining team helps clients optimise performance, boost profitability, and operate responsibly. We have a comprehensive understanding of the mining industry and current issues including decarbonisation. Understanding future-ready strategies is critical to countering these issues, capitalising on opportunities, and adding value to businesses.What you'll do:Coordinate design and documentation with other engineering services and team membersCarry out assigned project and design work as delegated in support of technical and commercial standardsPrepare reports for clients on matters relating to hydrogeologyCommunicate effectively with internal/external stakeholdersUndertake hydrogeological assessments including the interpretation of data, site investigation planning and coordination, conceptualisation, and reportingPotential to undertake field workProvide technical input into groundwater investigations, management, and impact assessmentsDevelop groundwater modelsDraft technical reportsDrive innovation in our practice with new techniques, workflows, and ideasAbout you:Bachelor's degree in Geology or GeosciencesExcellent technical report writing and data interpretation skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication abilitiesExperience delivering hydrogeological investigations is preferredExposure to a diverse range of groundwater modelling software and calibration utilities is preferredExperience using GIS and other software to visualise data and model outputsAbout WSPWSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services firms, bringing together approximately 6,000 talented people across 15 offices in Australia.
