What you'll do:
Conduct all work in a safe manner and comply with all role specific HSE obligations.
Perform Geotechnical investigations including desktop and field investigations.
Carry out general field and office assignments under supervision of experienced engineers.
Assist with project planning and preparation of technical deliverables under supervision.
Assist in the preparation of specifications, proposals, and other documentation under supervision.
Assist with data management, interpretation and reporting.
Complete inductions and pre-requisites as required.
Conduct all work to satisfy all company, client and government conditions, policies, procedures, regulations and standards, as required.
Represent WSP to a professional standard at all times.
Participate in company development initiatives.
Actively participate in the mentoring program.
Develop appropriate time management skills and flexibility to allow for the management of a varying workload.
Work collaboratively with colleagues from all parts of the WSP business.
Participate in initiatives that lead to improved client feedback, satisfaction and exceed client expectations.
About you:Bachelors Degree (Engineering) or Equivalent ideally within Geotech/Tunnelling
MUST have some past experience in the Geo space with some project knowledge and experience
Relevant internal and external HSE training
Member of Engineers Australia Professional Development Program (PDP)
Hold a current unrestricted driver's licence that is valid for use in Australia
Ability to conduct fieldwork activities including site investigations (geotechnical and geological), soil logging and other activities including soil and groundwater sampling
Developing technical skills across a broad range of areas within discipline
Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to travel and work on remote sites
Good time management and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and work effectively within a team environment
Ability to utilise a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques in problem solving
Developing skills to deliver tasks to meet program and cost requirements
Developing skills in technical report writing
Developing skills in proposal writing
Aware of relevant systems, procedures and practices
Aware of organisational approach to risk management, ethics and safety
Awareness of Client-centricity principles
Focus on completing tasks as requested
Is organised and demonstrates attention to detail
Open to and actions feedback
