In this role, you'll assist with geotechnical calculations, design tasks, and documentation for structures.
This position is ideal for a junior engineer with one to five years of experience within civil or geotechnical engineering.
Join us to develop your skills in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment!We are open to candidates based in Queensland, New South Wales & Victoria.As a Geotechnical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:Carry out calculations and inputs for structural team for infrastructure projects.Show a desire for continued development and ability to undertake tasks that are outside of current expertise.Interpret and understand the Project Scope and Technical Requirements.Conduct detailed geotechnical design, calculations, reports and specifications including retaining walls, tunnels support, underground structures and foundations.Communicate with and take direction from the Senior Engineer to ensure that line wide requirements are understood and incorporated into deliverables.Follow line wide standards for design to ensure commonality is achieved across precincts.Report progress and constraints to the Senior Engineer at regular intervals.Consider constructability in all design outcomes and consult with relevant team members to ensure that design outcomes are constructible.Follow digital engineering principles and project workflows/procedures for front end design, detailing and submission.Required Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.Maximum of 1-5 years' experience working on design of geotechnics, preferably for major infrastructure projects.Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.Experience in delivery of detailed design and documentation for a major infrastructure project.Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Experience and detailed technical understanding of infrastructure projects, specifically in foundations and retaining calculations.Valuable experience in production of project deliverables such as reports, specifications, drawings and technical papers.Understanding of the design development process.Additional preferred experience:Experience using PLAXIS.Highly valuable experience in LeapFrog, MathCad, SAP2000 and/or Midas.Design experience using BIM and digital engineering tools.Understanding of constructability issues.What we offer:A positive team culture, flexible working arrangements, opportunities to be part of unique and transformative projects while learning from industry experts.
