Junior Geospatial Customer Success Engineer – Part Time Help bring the power of geospatial technology to the world.
We are seeking driven and adventurous individuals with both a geospatial and software background to assist in the development and utilisation of our Earth imaging platform which helps customers more easily discover, manage & use the latest Earth Observation data captured anywhere around the world. By making this type of data more accessible, Arlula will help to address real world challenges such as climate change and food security by allowing people to better monitor our planet from space.
This role, as a Junior position, will span across multiple areas of the business to provide learning opportunities. The focus for this role will be surrounding geospatial technologies, customer engagement and education and the intersection between them.
As the Geospatial Customer Success Engineer, you will: Assist in the research, documentation and understanding of geospatial data processing techniques. Write and maintain software to perform scalable, repeatable geospatial processing. Assist with the planning and design of software infrastructure to support, process, distribute and manage geospatial data. Assist in the preparation of reference materials to explain geospatial concepts for the edification of staff and the general public. Engage with customers to understand their use cases, imagery data and processing requirements. Assist in understanding and resolving customer enquiries about geospatial concepts, data, techniques and use cases. Supporting customer onboarding onto Arlula products, assisting with technical requirements, and troubleshooting issues. Skills and Experience Qualifications:
Applicants with diplomas or bachelor's degree in software development, science, mathematics or remote sensing are particularly encouraged. Experience:
1-2 years experience in software development, remote sensing or customer success.
Required:
Familiarity with common geospatial data formats (GeoTIFF, GeoJSON, STAC, COG, etc). Familiarity with geospatial processing concepts. Past experience writing non-trivial software applications or processing pipelines. Experience communicating with customers, understanding requirements and designing solutions. Preferred:
Experience with a statically typed programming language (ideally Go). Expertise with one or more remote sensing phenomenology (i.e. electro-optical, synthetic aperture radar, imaging spectroscopy, IOT sensor networks, etc). Experience with customer success/support. Attributes:
